Transportation/Travel

For Travelling Near and Far

Pittsburgh has a quite reliable public transportation system, including an extensive bus system and a mini metro system called the T that connects all Pittsburghers to the city and surrounding neighborhoods. An interesting, but important idiosyncrasy, of the PAT buses is the pay-leave-pay-enter system. If you are going to downtown, inbound, you have to pay when you enter the bus, but if you are going outbound, away from downtown, then you have to pay when you leave the bus. Unless, it is after 7 p.m. in which case you will always have to pay when you enter the bus.
