GlobalPittsburgh First Thursdays is our organization’s signature networking event. These monthly happy hours are both informal social gatherings for globally-minded community members and a valuable means of developing contacts and forging friendships for newcomers to our region. First Thursdays is a monthly night of socializing where GlobalPittsburgh members and friends welcome State Department guests from abroad, international students and expatriates from all over the world. It’s the easiest way to experience the world without leaving Pittsburgh. Partnerships and sponsorships are available and everyone is welcome! 2020 First Thursdays are sponsored by UPMC and Portiuncula Foundation.
GlobalPittsburgh outdoor event series supporting immigrant businesses brings you an art workshop!
The oil painting class will include a demonstration and individual painting time. You will learn how to mix colors and apply bold and powerful (or light and elegant) brushstrokes, painting alla-prima from life setup. This class is presented by Yelena Lamm, a Russian-born local artist who is a member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators, Pittsburgh Society of Artists, and Pittsburgh Watercolor Society.
No previous skills are required — as long as you can hold a brush or a pencil, and are ready to have fun experimenting with new techniques!
A complete set of materials is provided. Space on our lawn is limited to 15 people to allow social distancing.
